Welcoming THIEP and Introducing the New NASP/IASP Authorized Training Partner Program
The National Association of Safety Professionals (NASP) and the International Association of Safety Professionals (IASP) are pleased to welcome the Technical Higher Institute for Engineering and Petroleum (THIEP) as one of our newest Authorized Training Partners (ATPs).
Based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, THIEP is part of Hajr for Technical Education and Training, an organization with more than two decades of experience in technical education and workforce development. Founded in 2009, THIEP offers a wide range of engineering, technical, and occupational safety programs while serving industries that demand highly skilled and safety-focused professionals. The institute also delivers internationally recognized training programs and operates under the supervision of the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) in Saudi Arabia.
We are excited to welcome the THIEP team to the NASP and IASP family. Their commitment to technical excellence, workforce development, and occupational safety aligns closely with our mission of helping organizations build safer workplaces through quality education and professional development.
A New Chapter for International Training
THIEP also joins NASP at an exciting time as we launch our new Authorized Training Partner program.
The ATP program represents the next evolution of NASP’s international training provider network. It replaces the previous franchise model with a more modern, transparent approach that better reflects the relationship between NASP and established safety training organizations around the world.
Rather than functioning as franchise locations, Authorized Training Partners are independent organizations that have successfully completed NASP’s approval process and are authorized to deliver select NASP and IASP training programs within approved countries or regions.
The updated program emphasizes quality, accountability, and transparency while making it easier for students and employers to identify legitimate NASP and IASP training providers.
Maintaining High Standards Worldwide
Becoming an Authorized Training Partner involves more than simply applying for approval.
Each prospective ATP completes a formal review process that evaluates organizational reputation, occupational safety and health training experience, instructor qualifications, training capabilities, facilities, and the ability to consistently meet NASP and IASP program standards.
Approved partners operate under an active agreement with NASP and must comply with established course requirements, reporting procedures, quality expectations, and brand guidelines. Trainers are also required to meet qualification standards, including completion of the Certified Safety Manager (CSM) course. This structured approval process helps ensure that students receive a consistent learning experience regardless of where approved training is delivered.
Benefits for Students and Employers
The Authorized Training Partner program expands access to NASP and IASP training while preserving the quality and credibility that professionals have come to expect.
For students, the program creates more opportunities to attend approved training closer to home through trusted regional organizations.
For employers, the new public ATP directory provides an easy way to verify whether a training provider is officially authorized to deliver NASP and IASP programs within a specific country or region. This additional transparency helps organizations make informed decisions when selecting safety training providers.
Because each ATP is approved only for specific countries and authorized course offerings, students and employers can have greater confidence that they are working with a provider operating within its approved scope.

Supporting Safety Around the World
The launch of the Authorized Training Partner program reflects NASP and IASP’s continued commitment to expanding access to high-quality occupational safety and health education across the globe.
By partnering with respected organizations like THIEP, we can make professional safety training more accessible while maintaining the instructional quality, consistency, and integrity that define NASP and IASP programs.
We are excited to welcome Technical Higher Institute for Engineering and Petroleum to our growing network of Authorized Training Partners and look forward to supporting safety professionals throughout Saudi Arabia and beyond.
Please join us in welcoming THIEP to the NASP and IASP community as we continue working together to advance workplace safety worldwide.
