NASP’s 2027 Live Course Schedule Is Open, Including Confined Space Rescue on the Battleship USS North Carolina

Blog Issue #58 - Article 5

Fourth quarter is when next year’s training line gets written, and live seats go first. NASP’s 2027 classroom schedule is open, with dates and locations set for three courses.

Every NASP live class is instructor-led, ANSI/ASSP Z490.1-2024 compliant, and carries IACET CEUs.

Certified Safety Manager: February 15–19, 2027, San Antonio, TX

Five days, 40 hours, 4.0 CEUs, $2,295.

NASP’s foundational course for anyone responsible for running a safety program. The curriculum covers hazard communication, lockout/tagout and electrical safety, machine guarding, fall protection, confined space entry, PPE, HAZMAT/HAZWOPER, incident analysis and root cause, written program development, and audits versus inspections.

HAZWOPER Train-the-Trainer: April 12–16, 2027, Wilmington, NC

Five days, 40 hours, 4.0 CEUs, $2,495.

Covers the regulatory and training requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120 in detail, with demonstrations and hands-on simulations that satisfy the experiential requirements built into the standard. Graduates can deliver HAZMAT and HAZWOPER training in-house and issue certificates, and they leave with the Emergency Response Guidebook, the NIOSH Pocket Guide, and NASP’s program templates. No prior HAZWOPER experience is needed.

Confined Space Entry & Rescue Program Manager: April 19–23, 2027, Wilmington, NC

Five days, 40 hours, 4.0 CEUs, $2,795.

Five days on permit-required confined space program management and rescue, taught aboard the Battleship USS North Carolina.

The setting isn’t a gimmick. A WWII battleship is a working catalog of real permit-required spaces: voids, tanks, trunks, shafts, machinery spaces, and passageways with genuinely restricted entry and egress, in combinations no training prop reproduces. Students run entry and non-entry rescue scenarios in spaces that behave like the ones they’ll be writing permits for on the job site.

Still Open in 2026

Why Train-the-Trainer, and Why Live

Energy control procedures, confined space permits, and fall protection plans are specific to your equipment and your site. An outside instructor doesn’t know your drilling rigs or your roof lines. Someone on your own staff can write procedures against the machine in front of them, retrain the day a line changes, and document it the same afternoon.

Group discounts are available.
