Our staff has been working diligently to provide exciting, new and updated course content throughout our Learning Management System! We are proud to announce the launch of our Spill Containment Specialist course as well as a completely updated Workplace Violence Prevention Specialist course.

Spill Containment Specialist

There are a variety of regulations specifically designed to minimize the potential for HAZMAT spills and leaks as well as other pollutants at a facility. This course will provide a student with the information needed to develop a comprehensive approach to spill containment in their workplace and comply with the regulations that govern spill containment. Engineering and administrative controls (BMPs) will be discussed to meet oil storage (SPCC) and chemical storage (ERP) as well as stormwater runoff. Each of these standards has plan and program requirements that will be discussed in detail. This course meets the requirements for an 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher course.

Workplace Violence Prevention Specialist

At a time when shootings appear on the news weekly, Workplace Violence Prevention training has become paramount across every industry. NASP has recently updated the course content and in-course activities to reflect the ever-evolving risk surrounding violence at the workplace. In this course, you will find recent case studies and analysis, information on identifying potentially violent workers, and steps to manage and survive disruptive, threatening, and/or violent behavior. In addition, you will learn how to develop a model Violence Prevention Program that includes management commitment and employee buy in.
