A Year of Progress: NASP’s Training Milestones for 2025

Mechanical technicians are maintaining the engine. Engineer checking Material or Machine on Plant. Workers Factory check up machine at factory site.

As we look back on 2025, one theme shines brightly across the National Association of Safety Professionals (NASP): progress with purpose. This year, thousands of safety professionals advanced their knowledge, strengthened their skills, and elevated workplace safety culture through NASP’s comprehensive training programs, both in-person and online. From our flagship certifications to newly launched specialty courses, 2025 stands out as a year of growth and achievement.

Certified Safety Manager (CSM): Strengthening the Foundation of Workplace Safety

The Certified Safety Manager (CSM) program continues to be the cornerstone of NASP’s training offerings. In 2025, the program reached safety professionals in five key cities:

  • Las Vegas, NV
  • Raleigh, NC
  • Indianapolis, IN
  • Orlando, FL
  • Denver, CO

This year, 622 new graduates completed the CSM program either in-person or via our online CSM. Each graduate gained the essential tools needed to provide in-house safety training, implement effective safety plans and programs, and influence organizational safety at a high level. The growth of the CSM program reflects the increasing demand for qualified safety leaders as well as NASP’s dedication to providing exceptional training.

HAZWOPER Training: Building Confidence in High-Hazard Environments

The HAZWOPER series of programs remains vital for workers who operate in hazardous waste, emergency response, and environmental cleanup settings. In 2025, NASP delivered HAZWOPER TTT training in the following cities:

  • Orlando, FL
  • Wilmington, NC
  • Philadelphia, PA

A total of 118 safety professionals completed one of our HAZWOPER training courses this year. With emphasis on practical applications, these graduates are now prepared to teach and guide their teams with a higher level of confidence and expertise.

Confined Space Entry and Rescue Program Manager: Training for Critical Operations

Confined space entry requires specialized skills, careful planning, and precise execution. In 2025, NASP held two courses of this advanced training on the Battleship USS North Carolina in:

  • Wilmington, NC

We proudly recognize the 34 graduates from this program. Their ability to manage confined space entry and rescue operations will greatly enhance safety in environments where risks are both serious and highly technical.

Lockout/Tagout: Protecting Workers from Hazardous Energy

The Lockout/Tagout Train-the-Trainer course is essential for preventing unexpected energization and equipment hazards. This year, the program was offered in:

  • Wilmington, NC

A total of 101 professionals completed LOTO training with NASP. Their expertise will play a central role in reducing accidental energy release incidents and strengthening compliance within their organizations.

New Courses Launched in 2025: Meeting Modern Safety Challenges

NASP expanded its lineup of courses in 2025 by introducing several new programs designed to address emerging workplace safety needs:

  • Heat Injury and Illness Prevention Specialist (HIIPS)
  • 8-Hour HAZWOPER Refresher
  • RCRA Refresher

These additions broaden NASP’s course catalog and help safety professionals stay informed and prepared in an ever-changing regulatory landscape.

Looking Ahead: Continuing NASP’s Mission in 2026 and Beyond

The achievements of 2025 reflect the dedication of our students and the strength of NASP’s commitment to advancing safety education. With 889 graduates in these areas alone, this has been a remarkable year for the safety community.

As we move into 2026, NASP will continue to expand our library of instructor-led and online training and support organizations and professionals in creating safer workplaces through accessible, high-quality training. Our mission remains clear. We aim to empower every safety professional with the knowledge and confidence needed to make a lasting impact.
