NASP has partnered with the National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD) to offer a 4 hour (0.4 CEU) live-stream online course to discuss the intricacies of the Hazard Communication Standard.

This HAZCOM training will take place in two parts:

In Part I (2 Hours), we will discuss basic OSHA requirements for the storage and use of hazardous chemicals in the workplace and the modification of OSHA’s HAZCOM Standard to conform with the United Nations (UN) Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) requirements. We will also review the elements of a Hazard Communication Standard. And finally, this Part will discuss additional regulatory labeling, including the US Hazardous Materials Identification System (HMIS), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 704 Labeling System, and the Department of Transportation (DOT) Labeling System.

In Part II (2 Hours), we will discuss the 16 Sections of a Safety Data Sheet (SDS), basic chemical and toxicological terms and concepts required for employees, and the most effective training on HAZCOM for ensuring compliance with the standard.
