  • A student roster must be uploaded with student signatures for each course.

    • For live Classroom Training: Download the Student Sign-in Sheet template here.
    • For Virtual Training Platforms: Download the student attendance reports in Excel file format and include your Trainer signature.

  • Trainers are sent a confirmation email and a payment link via email.
  • Certificates will be processed and shipped after payment is received. Processing and shipment may take 3-5 business days.

Please Note

Upon submission, Trainer support will receive an email confirmation of your request. Please refrain from emailing Trainer Support multiple times, as this will delay the processing of your request.

Trainer Requirements

To issue certificates with NASP or IASP, training must be conducted in a live classroom setting or via a virtual platform. According to the NASP/IASP Trainer Policy, the use of E-learning platforms with pre-recorded videos and self-paced modules is not permitted when issuing NASP or IASP certificates.  You may issue certificates using E-learning platforms, but you may NOT list NASP or IASP anywhere on the certificates or training materials.

Certificate of Completion Requirements

NASP prints the certificates of completion with the heading "National Association of Safety Professionals" and the NASP logo unless the trainer requests an IASP certificate.

Your students' names, as well as the course name, are included on the certificate. The certificate includes your trainer certificate number and a blank signature line for you to sign each student's certificate. You are required to sign all certificates prior to issuing the certificate for the certificate to be valid.

Fee Structure for Issuing Certificates

It is at the Authorized Trainer's discretion to determine the fees for conducting training.  You may charge your students a separate tuition or training fee at your discretion. NASP only sets the certificate processing fees as listed below.

  • If you offer courses of varying lengths, your pricing should reflect the time commitment and value of each course.
  • NASP expects that longer courses (e.g., 30 hours) will generally be priced higher than shorter ones (e.g., 10 hours), since they require more instructional time, preparation, and deliver more in-depth content to the student.

The Certificate Fee Structure is outlined below.
Pricing refers to the amount that NASP charges YOU—the Authorized Trainer—per student certificate issued.
⚠️ Note: These fees do not include shipping and handling costs.

NASP 10- & 30-Hour General Industry and Construction Recommended Course Itinerary

The NASP 10- and 30-hour General Industry and Construction Courses should follow a similar format as those of OTI. A CSM may teach 10-Hour and 30-Hour General Industry Courses, and a CSMC may teach 10-Hour and 30-Hour Construction Courses. You may substitute other OSHA related topics that are not listed in the "elective" section which may be applicable to your facility. Click here to review the itineraries for the 10- and 30-Hour courses.

NASP vs. OTI Courses

OSHA does not recognize courses other than those sponsored by OTI; however, many other organizations, such as NASP, provide alternatives to the OTI version of the 10- and 30-hour course. Because the Outreach Training Program is voluntary for OSHA, an employer has discretion in enforcing safety and health training requirements at their work sites and determines if a card meets their acceptability standard.

The real question is whether the company you work for (or clients) requires a Dept of Labor 10- or 30-hour "blue" card or whether the NASP cards are acceptable. Only seven states require DOL cards, and they are for construction companies only (does not include anyone working in General Industry). These states require employees to complete the 10-hour construction course before going on-site, including New York, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Missouri, Nevada, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. In all other states, the 10 & 30-hour courses are voluntary.
