Job Information
EHS Coordinator will provide a range of EHS program support and compliance assistance to the EHS Manager. This position will also be expected to assist the plant managers and EHS manager with compliance efforts and inspections related to JDH food safety program and FSMA regulations. The EHS Coordinator will provide field and administrative support to 3 area feed mills and transportation team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act) program compliance and oversight
- Current good manufacturing practices (CGMP) implementation.
- Assist with Quality Control Processes at Mills
- Food Safety plan review, assisting mills with tools needed to effectively implement these plans.
- Assist with food safety hazard identification, analysis, and effective corrective actions.
- FSMA training for employees
Assist with health program component compliance and oversight
- Assist with hearing conservation program.
- Industrial hygiene programs
- PPE assessments related to micro ingredients
- Drug and alcohol-free workplace programs
Assist with safety program components
- Learn and understand how safety programs play into employee’s everyday tasks.
- Consistently use proactive safety tools to help reduce risk.
- Help develop existing and new proactive safety tools.
- Hazard identification and solution seeking
- Assist with computer-based safety programs and recordkeeping.
- Assist with 5S projects.
Assist with environmental programs
- Learn SWPPP and Air permit requirements, assist with inspections and recordkeeping.
- Help train employees on requirements and recordkeeping
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health, & Safety, Occupational Safety, or related field education and/or related experience required.
- At least 3 years of experience in EHS-related processes
- Knowledge on OSHA & OHSAS process and reporting, EPA, CUPA, Haz Mat
- Excellent communication (oral & written), listening, and interpersonal
- Leadership, motivational, and presentation skills
- Planning, organizational and time management
- Good judgment and decision making
- Effective in working both independently and in a team setting
- Interact with all levels of the organization
- Attention to details and follow-up
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize workload
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and the Internet
Physical Demands
