Certified Petroleum Safety Specialist (PSS) - Refineries, Plants, Storage Safety
Course Objectives:
The NASP Certification Petroleum Safety Specialist – Refineries, Plants, Storage Safety indicates a high level of proficiency and is one of the highest levels of certification offered by NASP. This certification is an indication of a level of proficiency expected of a safety professional who is capable of developing and managing a comprehensive facility wide or corporate safety program for petroleum pipeline construction, operation, and maintenance through the facility lifecycle and closeout decommissioning.
Learning Outcome:
The student will function as a key team member or team leader who provides, implements, and / or reviews regulatory checklists, inspection reports, and required documents. The student will serve as an onsite inspector to assure regulatory requirements are addressed properly during construction and to provide verification that operational regulations are being met on a daily basis and through effective program management.
Course Prerequisites :
There are no prerequisites for this course.
Online Exams :
The student will take a comprehensive online exam at the end of the course. You must score 80% to receive certification. You have three opportunities to pass the exam.
Optional Credits:
The estimated time required to complete the course is 40 hours, but can be done at the student's own pace. Four (4) CEUs are offered through the University of North Carolina at Wilmington for this course. Recertification:
