Course Objectives:
The NASP Certification "Petroleum Safety Administrator" indicates a high level of proficiency and is one of the highest levels of certification offered by NASP. Petroleum Safety Administrator level is an indication of a level of proficiency expected of a safety professional who is capable of developing and managing a comprehensive facility wide or corporate safety program on a petroleum job site. The Petroleum Safety Administrator certification consists of seven modules. Each of these modules is a certification course that may stand alone or may be completed as a component of the PSA.
Course Composition:
The following are requirements of the Petroleum Safety Administrator:
- Petroleum Safety Specialist (PSS)
- Petroleum Safety Manager (PSM)
- Workplace Violence Prevention Specialist (VPS)
- HAZWOPER Training Specialist (HTS)
The student must select 3 courses from the following 8 courses:
- Chemical Safety Technician (CST)
- Materials Handling Safety Technician (MHT)
- Electrical Safety Technician (EST)
- Steel Erection Technician (SET)
- Trenching & Excavation Safety Technician (TET)
- Fall Protection & Elevated Structures Safety Technician (SLT)
- Welding Cutting Brazing Safety Technician (WST)
- Fire Protection, Exit Routes, Emergency Plan Technician (FET)
Course Prerequisites :
The following course is a pre-requisite of this program:
HAZWOPER Training Specialist (HTS) participants must have completed a HAZWOPER 40 hour Course or equivalent prior to taking the HTS course. The NASP HTS course is designed to prepare you academically to provide HAZWOPER training to others. In order to receive the HTS Certification you must have the practical experience appropriate to the courses you intend to teach.
Online Exams :
The student will take a comprehensive online exam at the end of the course. You must score 80% to receive certification. You have three opportunities to pass the exam.
Optional Credits:
Eighteen (18) CEUs are offered through the University of North Carolina at Wilmington for this course. Recertification:
All NASP certifications require refresher training once every three years. The certifications should be refreshed before their expiration date. Click here for more details.
