Graduates are certified as an "Bloodborne Pathogens Technician"

Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and hepatitis merit serious concern for workers occupationally exposed to blood, other potentially infectious materials, and other body fluids that contain such bloodborne pathogens as HIV and HBV. Exposure to bloodborne pathogens occurs in many ways. Generally, bloodborne pathogens can be transmitted through contact with eyes, nose, and mouth or through broken skin.

There is an exam that can be faxed or e-mailed to NASP for grading. The estimated time required to complete the course is 20 hours, but can be done at the student's own pace. Students will be given six months from time of purchase to complete the course.
Two (2) CEUs are offered through the University of North Carolina at Wilmington for this course.
